Q: What kind of changes can I expect on my account
today?
A: None. Your billing and Internet services will remain the same at this time.
You don’t need to make any changes.
Your account number, costs of services, and products will remain the same.
Q: Can I make changes to my GBIS Internet services
today?
A: Yes! You can still upgrade or change your services by contacting GBIS at
1-855-767-4247.
Q: What (billing) changes can we expect in the future?
A: At this time, there are no changes to your billing. You can continue to
pay your bill the same way as you have in the past.
At a later date, CityWest will be contacting you to bring your billing over.
CityWest offers a variety of flexible payment options such as auto-pay, credit
card payments, payments by mail, and payments through your financial institution.
Q: What new Internet products can we expect in the
future?
A: CityWest is making an initial $150,000 investment to upgrade the network
in Gillies Bay. Once the Connected Coast landing site is activated, you can
expect faster Internet services. And this
will include no data limits! Once we have these new products
available, we will inform GBIS customers.
Q: Will I have the option to upgrade to CityWest services?
A: Yes! Once CityWest has completed their network upgrades, and the Connected
Coast site has been activated, you will have the option to upgrade to faster
Internet and with no data limits!
Q: Will there be any interruption or disruption to
my services?
A: No! You will get the same great service you receive today. During the network
upgrade, there may be brief outages while we do work to upgrade the network
in Gillies Bay.
Q: I’m waiting to be switched from Wireless to Cable
Internet service. Will my service still be upgraded?
A: Yes! GBIS and CityWest are working together to mobilize an on-island team
to perform outstanding work that has been requested, including upgrading wireless
Internet customers.
Q: I live in the Oasis area, when will I get improved
service?
A: GBIS and CityWest are working together on a plan to improve the connectivity
in the Oasis area. More details will be communicated to residents in the future
(2023).
Q: I'm a GBIS customer that lives in a remote part
of the island. Will I be able to get CityWest services?
A: Yes! All GBIS customers will get access to the CityWest network.
